We loved our experience here. This place is a gem. The food was truly excellent as well as the service. They’ve managed to pull off fine dining without the stuffy atmosphere some nice places can have.
We had shared a scallop & risotto … More appetizer from their specials menu (get it if it’s on offer) then each had a soup - French Onion was out of this world and the Gorgonzola & Tomato soup was also amazing. Our entrees were a steak (perfect) and the chicken cordon bleu (incredible).
My partner seemed pleased with the wine list and cocktail selection. Our only regret was not getting dessert. We’ll have to come hungrier next time.

Brought my bf there for his birthday (60th) service was great. First they brought out the wrong steak. The second girl agreed it wasn’t a ribeye. I got the fillet (8 oz) ordered it Medium +. It was definitely medium - (I didn’t complain). … More The green beans were hard like they weren’t even cooked along with their carrot. Couldn’t believe it (still didn’t complain). Ordered The crème brûlée and that was excellent! She didn’t charge us because she felt bad they brought the wrong steak out. Never did ask us about the food. Spent $250 (2 martini’s each) for the two of us. It should be perfect, not just okay.

In 2006, Michael opened his restaurant, Michael John’s, a French-American steakhouse, located in Bradenton, Florida that embodies everything he has learned throughout the years. With passion, discipline and consistency, he has brought a culinary gem to this city.

MJ’s Filet Mignon

USDA Prime – Herb Seasoned, Pan Seared and finished with our house garlic & herb butter. Our leanest and most tender cut of prime beef. Hand cut from the best Iowa aged tenderloin available.

6oz, 8oz, or 12oz – larger cuts on request

The “Dirty” Caesar

Like a dirty martini, we use crisp romaine tossed with Gorgonzola blue cheese, Spanish Manzanilla olives, hardboiled egg, parmesan cheese, garlic roasted croutons & dirty caesar vinaigrette.

Spring Onion Soup with Gruyere

Our Gluten free French onion soup begins with rich veal stock that has taken over 48 hours to prepare in house. Loaded with caramelized onions, topped with Gruyere cheese, gratinéed and served with toast points on the side.

Roasted Duck

USDA Grade A “Maple Leaf Farms” Peking duck that is split in half, rubbed with our chef’s blend of seasonings and roasted to perfection. Served with raspberry-port sauce, candied pecans and raspberries.
